Have you ever been on a cruise before? If yes, which cruise ship(s) have you been on? The Norwegian Sky cruise ship was my first cruise experience. Since being on this cruise I’ve been on one other. And while my experiences both times were positive, I’m unsure if I’ll be going on another cruise, at least not any time soon? Why? Well, I’ll go over it more in this post. But basically, now that I’m older I have a clear sense of the type of traveler I am/style of travel I’d prefer.
However, cruises are still awesome experiences. I’d recommend any novice travelers to try a cruise at least once. Then, like me, you can determine whether or not that is how you like to travel. The Norwegian Sky cruise ship was definitely a cool first experience. If you just booked a Norwegian cruise or you’d like to know about my experience before doing so, keep reading.
Have you read my previous blog post about taking a leap of faith and starting a new chapter of traveling? Or what about the one that listed the 10 things I wanted to do when I visited Porto, Portugal? Basically, both of those posts involved me preparing for my first European trip.
I’ve been fortunate enough to travel abroad before. But always on “this side” of the world. Before going to Portugal, I’ve been to Mexico, the Bahamas and Canada. Those places were lovely and I want to explore them more, along with Latin America and more of the U.S. However, traveling far has always intrigued me.
So, I stopped dreaming about going to Europe… and I went.
I have several posts planned relating to my experience in Portugal. However, I wanted to just decompress and let out my general feelings about how I feel and what I learned. If you’re preparing for your first big trip or are simply curious, keep reading.
2018 was a tough year for me. I may even say it sucked. But one of the highlights of my year for sure was my trip to Montréal, Canada. This may seem silly to say for such a short trip, but I believe it really was a turning point for me and my life. But that’s a post for another day. The post for today is centered on an experience I had on my trip.
If you are curious about what it’s like to do a photoshoot, particularly with Airbnb, then this post is for you! I will go over my experience and review it overall. Keep reading if you’d like to find out more about it!
I’m a millennial, thus it’s not surprising to hear that I enjoy social media and consuming online content. However, this isn’t something that’s interested me now since it’s more trendy. For years I thought and dreamt about starting my own blog, Youtube channel, etc. With Youtube, I quietly made a channel and would upload maybe two videos every year. And it wasn’t util late summer 2018 when I started this blog.
Something finally clicked in. I finally did what I wanted to do for so long. I did it for me. And sure, neither are my main sources of income (yet) but it’s a great creative outlet that I’m proud of. If you are thinking about starting a blog, but are nervous or just need some more motivation to: keep reading.
If you read a previous post of mine you know that I’m going to be going to Portugal. Depending if I decide to post this on a Monday or on my regular Tuesday schedule, I may be traveling to Porto TODAY. (Hello, future me). Portugal is probably one of the top 5 European countries I want to explore and I’ll finally be tapping into it. I’ll be there for just under two weeks and I have a whole list of ideas to do.
Who knows if I’ll make time for everything on my list because I don’t want to be too strict with my itinerary. But nevertheless, I’d like to give a rough outline of what I plan to do during my time in the beautiful Porto. My goal is to enjoy my time in Porto but also take advantage of its prime location to take day trips around the area. So, if you’d like to find out what I’d like to explore, keep reading.
I’m back with another “installment,” if you will, of #GoalsFour on my blog. Basically what I do is every other month (or whenever) I list my four goals (get it – play on “goals for…”) the upcoming month. I list things I want to do, accomplish or improve on. But not only that. Additionally, I list four things I did well on recently. Either the last month or since my last #GoalsFour post.
The last installment of this was done in February. You can click the link above to read it. But now we are in Spring, the days are longer and we even had a day of weather in the upper 60s. So as I prepare for April, which I believe will be a very transformative month for me, I felt that this would be the perfect time to do this. So continue reading as I sit back and reflect.
Sometimes I get so caught up with my desire to travel the world and go far away that I forget that there’s a myriad of places to see within my home country. So while I can’t wait to embark on the 20+ hour flight to Australia one day, I can also take a 3 hour flight from New York and get to the vibrant city of New Orleans in Louisiana.
Like most people, when I think of New Orleans I think of Mardi Gras, the French influence, the cuisine and vibrant colors. My sister went to New Orleans years ago in high school on a class trip and loved it. On the trip they went to several cities on the east coast and New Orleans was her favorite. I compiled a bucket list of things I’d like to do or see when I get myself to New Orleans one day. If you’d like to find out what’s on my list, keep reading.
